Kyle Mack
Director of Biblical CounselingKyle is an NYU-trained Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) with over a decade of experience in both professional counseling and direct service provision. His journey through various levels of psychiatric care has endowed him with a deep understanding of modern mental health treatment models.
However, Kyle passionately believes that biblical counseling not only complements but often transcends the limitations of traditional professional counseling. Here at Grace Redeemer’s Counseling Ministry, Kyle and the counseling team leverage a biblical framework which is seen as the bedrock for empathy, understanding, and the application of effective care. This approach not only aligns with but enhances the foundational principles of professional counseling.

Christa
Biblical CounselorChrista grew up as a missionary kid in India, but calls the Midwest her home. She’s been married to her husband Kumar for almost 25 years and together they have three children. Before moving to Northern New Jersey, she and her family lived in the Middle East where they did business as missions and served and ministered to fellow expats. Christa has a BA in psychology, and her Master of Arts in Counseling from Westminster Theological Seminary. She was led to biblical counseling after being introduced to the ministry of CCEF (the Christian Counseling Education Foundation). She has always enjoyed coming alongside people and finds it a privilege to be able to encourage them with the hope of the Gospel. She enjoys traveling and trying all sorts of new foods.
Sungmin
Biblical CounselorSungmin enjoys working as a biblical counselor, meeting with individuals and couples with a variety of issues including anxiety, depression, addiction, and relationship issues. He received a Masters of Divinity with an emphasis in counseling from Westminster Theological Seminary. He completed a B.A. in Political Science at the University of Michigan and a J.D. at Fordham University School of Law. Prior to becoming a counselor, Sungmin practiced law in New Jersey and New York. He is involved in his church where he serves as a deacon. Sungmin lives in New Jersey with his wife and young daughter, and enjoys time with family, playing sports and is an avid fan of Michigan football.
Michelle
Biblical Counseling ResidentMichelle grew up in New Jersey and is currently pursuing a Master of Arts in Counseling at Westminster Theological Seminary. She holds a B.A. in Music from Oberlin College and a J.D. from Rutgers Law School–Newark. Before entering the field of counseling, Michelle practiced law in the area of Trusts and Estate Planning. Michelle’s interest in biblical counseling began when she encountered the ministry of CCEF (the Christian Counseling & Education Foundation), which deeply shaped her understanding of care, relationships and the foundational role of Scripture. She has long had a heart for walking with others through life’s struggles and considers it a meaningful calling to offer Christ-centered hope and encouragement. She is married to her husband and together they have three children. Outside of her studies, Michelle enjoys music, staying active, cooking for her family and unwinding with creative hobbies like knitting and the occasional jigsaw puzzle.
Alina
Biblical Counseling InternAlina is an imperfect child of God, wife and mother looking up to her perfect Heavenly Father for living life at its fullest. Born overseas and having lived in several countries, she discovered that the one common thread in various seasons and places was God’s presence and how he worked through his people. After experiencing the incomparable comfort of God’s word and the impact of God’s people in her own life, Alina has recently been challenged and savored training from Christian Counseling & Educational Foundation and sensed a soft calling of sharing the hope she received with others. She is expectantly looking forward to seeing God at work in her own life and the life of those he puts in her path.

Location & Accessibility
- GRC Counseling services are available both in person and online.
- Grace Redeemer Church is located at 21 Harristown Rd, Glen Rock, NJ 07452. On site parking is available (upon arrival please follow the signage directing you to parking designated for the Counseling Ministry). Our Counseling Wing is located within Grace Redeemer Church and is accessible from the front entrance that parallels Harristown Rd. Please Note: The entrance for the counseling wing is different from the church’s main entrance used on Sunday mornings.
- Online/Remote Biblical Counseling Services are available and are NOT restricted solely to residents of the state of New Jersey. Remote Services utilize encrypted remote technology platforms that only require a personal computer to access.
Insurance Reimbursement Explanation
- Insurance companies generally cover “services” that are classified as medical or mental health treatments directly (or when submitting for out of network reimbursement). Unfortunately, Biblical counseling falls outside of these classifications and is therefore not recognized by insurance providers for the purposes of reimbursement.
- While some of our Biblical Counseling Staff are licensed by the state, the Biblical counseling “service” provided by the GRC Counseling Ministry is still not recognized by insurance companies as a reimbursable “service”.
Financial Assistance
- More information about Fees for Counseling can be found within the Counseling Policy.
- Reduced Fees are available at the discretion of the Diaconate upon review of a completed Counseling Assistance Form.
Limitations of Confidentiality
- GRC’s Counseling Ministry provides confidential services while abiding by all state and local madated reporting laws regarding Child Abuse, Elder Abuse, and Threats to Harm Self or Others.
- GRC strongly encourages a collaborative approach to counseling that may include, but does not require, permissions to collaborate with Pastoral Staff, and other professional supports.
