‘Tis the Season! Ready… Set… Go!
“And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds,”
Hebrews 10:24
Ready
There’s a flurry of activity and God is on the move. The Diaconate, GRC ministries, and Ministry Partners are busy behind the scenes gearing up for this holiday season. These dedicated individuals sacrificially give of their time, money and effort to engage as joyous volunteers ready to serve. But this group needs to expand in order to sustain the growing need. If there is one takeaway from today it is this: we need you! By living missionally we can encourage all so they too might help the vulnerable and that the glory and goodness of God may be seen.
Set
The Diaconate wants to take God’s Word seriously by helping equip GRC to serve others as if we’re serving the Lord to support the vulnerable and seek justice for them in His name. Our mission of serving together happens through:
-Building bridges into the community through relationships.
-Encouraging you to help us in the unique ways you can.
-Empowering you to comfort others as Christ has comforted you.
–Equipping the congregation through our partners to experience missional living in new and exciting ways as servants of God.
-Working with the outside community so that we might help others together.
Ready to serve
The Great Commission is not merely about spreading the Gospel in words, it’s embodying the Gospel and its hope for transformation, experiencing the love of Christ, and bringing it to everyone we meet. It’s being sent into the world; not expecting people to come to us. GRC has great vehicles to serve others, but needs you to fuel its efforts into every sphere of your life.
Equipped to serve
We’ve finally realized we’re not made to only help others, but to reach out to others for support. We thought we’d be limited in what we do, but God is showing us how important it is to build up GRC relationally with professionals in our partnerships. He is showing us how to become the body where Christ is the head as He surrounds us with many more who are fighting the good fight of faith. We liken it to putting muscle onto a solid bone foundation so that GRC might grow beyond its means.
Sent to serve
Here is where God is doing an amazing work in changing the hearts of GRC. We have come with our few fishes and loaves, and how God has multiplied our efforts! We have seen the value of sacrificial giving as we step out in Faith. Now we pray that all would build relationships, and begin to be sent to live missionally.
GO!
During this season of giving and thanksgiving, will you help see the Gospel in a new light and embrace the change that God is making? In the Parable of The Good Samaritan, will you see Jesus point us Scripturally to love through action and to step out in boldness and answer the call; “here I am; send me” to fulfill your calling as an ambassador for Christ?
Still having reservations? We understand. Look at this document. Pray that you might be used in whatever small way this holiday season. Then get ready… set… and go so that
. . . whatever you do, whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him” (Col. 3:17).
The GRC Diaconate consists of John Cordova, Shelley Hahn, Gloria Huang, Gabe Naranjo, Werner Tretner, and Jeffrey Wan.
